Bruno’s journey began on a picturesque farm in the King Valley, near Whitefield, where he cultivated invaluable skills, such as welding, tree grafting, and automotive maintenance. The Farmer’s Journey
I grew up on a farm in the King Valley, near a town called Whitefield, where I remained until the age of 24. Growing up on a farm taught me many skills, including welding, tree grafting, and servicing and repairing cars, all of which I continue to practice to this day.
The Path of Reinvention
After leaving the farm with no formal education, I attended night school for 15 years while working during the day in various jobs, including as a waiter, welder, and engineer. Based on this experience, I’ve acquired numerous qualifications, including an MBA from Melbourne University.
Career Progression
In 1997, I founded a business called Rockwell, an automotive parts factory located behind Wynns Locksmith in Preston, which has since been redeveloped. Thanks to my education and work experience, I have had the opportunity to work in Japan, Germany, and the USA.
Hobbies and Interests
While I don’t follow any particular sports team, I derive great enjoyment from watching individuals and teams compete at a high level, with the Olympics being a prime example. I also enjoy designing and crafting items from steel and wood, drawing on the skills I acquired on the farm. Due to my farming and engineering background, I collect and maintain old cars for my family’s use. My car is 24 years old, my son’s is 23, and my wife’s car is 20 years old. In addition to our work cars, we still have a 44-year-old family car, a red V8 HZ Kingswood with a Monaro pack. My wife and I engage in regular swimming, cycling, and running activities, keeping this routine for over 30 years. Swimming three kilometers without a break poses no challenge for us.
